Monkland Floor Sanding
Not all floors need sanded. It all depends on the final look you are trying to achieve.
It is, for example, possible to scrub the floor with a stiff brush, allow it dry for a couple of days, hand sand any rough points and seal or stain and seal or even oil or wax. It is very unlikely to be a flat as a freshly sanded floor and if sealed will seal to a different shade as the scrubbed floor is likely to be grey before starting.
It might be the case that the floor is in too poor a condition to successfully sand. In that situation rather than lifting and replacing it might be an alternative to clean-up the surface and paint it as dark as possible to provide a background for light coloured rugs.
The key is to have an open mind as to what the possibilities might be. Instead of hastily reaching a decision do weigh up the alternative possibilities.
